Praised by The New York Times for its “athletic, industrious, enthusiastic” dancers, Parsons Dance performs Microburst, a world premiere by David Parsons created in collaboration with tabla player Avirodh Sharma, who performs live, and the company premiere of Trey McIntyre’s Ma Maison, set to music by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Also on tap is Whirlaway, another piece with a New Orleans backdrop, featuring music by Allen Toussaint. Rounding out the program is Parsons’ Wolfgang, a humorous depiction of Mozart’s Symphony No. 25 in G Minor; Reflections, a second world premiere, co-created by Parsons and dancer Abby Silva Gavezzoli, who is leaving the company after 15 years; and Caught, the solo that has enraptured audiences since Parsons created it more than 35 years ago.
