Celebrating over 40 years carrying forth the flamenco legacy, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana returns to offer the US premiere of EQUILIBRIO (Clásica/Tradición), a new creation by acclaimed flamenco artist Emilio Ochando. Featuring nine dancers and musicians, the work embraces flamenco tradition while creating a unique environment of sound and creative staging. Shawl, bells,  spoons, and castanets interact with an original musical composition by Daniel Jurado featuring multi-instrumentalist Gonzalo Grau.

The Joyce is offering you the chance to experience flamenco dance and learn a short sequence! Try your hand at “palmas” and your feet at “zapateados”, and absorb the pride and emotions important to flamenco, while being accompanied by a guitarist.  Use the link to get started…and on your way to Ole! This Family Matinee event is open and free for Saturday, June 22 Family Matinee ticket holders and all others with tickets during Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana's engagement.
