Joyce Theater

In our latest Digital Curtain Chat, Artistic Director of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago (HSDC) Linda-Denise Fisher-Harrell joins longtime friend and Joyce Director of Programming Danni Gee for a discussion about her artistic journey from performing with HSDC to becoming the first woman and person of color to lead the company.

Fisher-Harrell and Gee reminisce on their parallel artistic careers, the ways their lives coincided as dancers with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and how they forged new paths as they left the stage. Leading HSDC into its 45th season, Fisher-Harrell shares advice for aspiring dancers, lessons from past mentors, and her vision for the ever-evolving company.

The Joyce's Digital Curtain Chat series is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
