Noche Flamenca returns to The Joyce this winter with the world premiere of Irrationalities, a gripping new work inspired by Goya’s Human Follies (Los Disparates). Exploring the harrowing scenes depicted in Goya’s etchings, Irrationalities reveals the human condition as never before seen.
The evening-length work features live original music, including four singers and two guitarists, as well as masks by internationally recognized visual artist Mary Frank. In addition to six dancers from across Spain, Juan Ogalla joins the cast as a soloist, bringing an electrifying presence to the work.
Witness Goya’s work come to life under the direction and choreography of Martín Santangelo and his two-time Bessie award-winning wife, Soledad Barrio.
