Jarod Curley
Soloist, American Ballet Theatre
Jarod Curley was born in Bethesda, Maryland, and began his ballet training at the Frederick School of Classical Ballet before continuing his studies at CityDance Conservatory and the Next Generation Ballet under the direction of Peter Stark. During his training, he earned top honors in both the solo and pas de deux divisions of Youth America Grand Prix and was a finalist at the 2015 Prix de Lausanne, where he received an invitation to study at the John Cranko School in Stuttgart, Germany.
Curley joined American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in 2016, became an apprentice with the main company in 2018, joined the Corps de Ballet in 2019, and was promoted to Soloist in 2024. He was named Principal Dancer in 2026 following his performance as Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake at the Metropolitan Opera House.
His repertoire with American Ballet Theatre includes Prince Siegfried and Ballroom Von Rothbart in Swan Lake; Onegin and Prince Gremin in John Cranko's Onegin; the Nutcracker Prince in Alexei Ratmansky's The Nutcracker; principal roles in Theme and Variations, Études, Don Quixote (Grand Pas de Deux), Firebird, Of Love and Rage, On the Dnipro, Bach Partita, Neo, Like Water for Chocolate, The Seasons, Some Assembly Required, Woolf Works, La Boutique, Gala Performance, Rodeo, Piano Concerto No. 1, and ZigZag. He also created a featured role in Silas Farley’s Collage & Creed.
