Vinicius Freire

Vinícius Freire was born in Recife, Brazil. At the age of 12, he began his ballet training. A few months later, Freire joined the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil on a full scholarship..
In 2021, he joined the Junior Company at the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil, but soon moved to Philadelphia to attend the Philadelphia Ballet II. Soon after, he was invited to join the Philadelphia Ballet as apprentice.
In 2023, he got the opportunity to join the New Jersey Ballet as a professional. He is currently on his 4th season with the company.
As artist, he was named the best male dancer at the largest dance festival in Brazil, Festival de Joinville, in 2023.
He has worked with renowned choreographers including Justin Peck, Roderick George, Ingrid Silva among others, including restagings of choreography by George Balanchine.
