January 11—14 American Dance Platform
Founded in 2018, B. MOORE DANCE is a Dallas-based contemporary modern dance company, under the artistic direction of Bridget L. Moore. For The Joyce Theater’s American Dance Platform, B. MOORE DANCE presents an artistically diverse program rooted in African-American and global dance aesthetics. Rose Gold, a New York premiere, envelops the viewer with the symbolism of a rose in motion. Southern Recollections-Romare Bearden, inspired by the eponymous Harlem Renaissance painter, is a work forging the past, present and future. Rounding out the program, Moore’s Uncharted Territory is exploring and challenging what dance can be from an Avant-garde, fashionista, and cultural perspective.
Experience some of the best dance across the country with The Joyce Theater's seventh annual American Dance Platform, dedicated to the memory of Theodore S. Bartwink of The Harkness Foundation for Dance. Theodore S. Bartwink was a Joyce Theater Foundation Trustee from 1993 to 2014.
The American Dance Platform will feature one company per program selected by a guest curator, and each program will be performed twice during the course of the week. For the seventh edition of ADP, The Joyce has selected acclaimed choreographer Ronald K. Brown as the curator.
